THE HERMAN PORCARO
&
IRENE BENCRISCUTTO FAMILY

Irene and Herman Porcaro were married in the year 1935. Herman started as a barber and later worked at Western Publishing Company. Joe Porcaro was Herman's father and Sara his mother. He has two sisters Chris, Amelia and three brothers, Frank, John and Louie.

Joe, our first son, was born on July 31, 1936. He finished Sacred Heart School and graduated from St. Catherine's High School. He later had jobs at gas stations and then worked at Western Publishing. He went into the grocery business for awhile then started at Hermes Hardware. Joe was married in 1960 to Judy Hermes. Judy, who graduated from Alverno College, is a home economics teacher. They have four children, Paul, Peter, Perry and Pam.

Diane was born 15 months after Joe and she also finished school at Sacred Heart and graduated from St. Catherine's. She went to the University of Wisconsin - Extension and then began to work at Western Publishing. She moved on to Johnson's Wax. Diane married Frank Maritato in 1958 while he was still in Dental School. They moved to Texas where Lisa was born. Later, after Mitch was born, they moved to Memphis, where Frank completed his dental training. They moved back to Racine where he opened his dental practice. There twins were born and named Nancy and Frank.

David was born five years after Diane and also finished school at Sacred Heart and St. Catherine's. His main interest was in cars. He would buy old cars and rebuild them. Dave also started working at Western Publishing, then moved on to Oster and Twin Disc. Dave became supervisor at Twin Disc where he is well-regarded. He married Mary Ann Anzalone in 1964 and they have two girls, Cindy and Laura.

Nita was born two years after Dave and she also went to Sacred Heart and St. Catherine's. She started working at Western Publishing and became their credit specialist. She married Allen Granitzke in 1964, a building contractor. They have one daughter, Cherie.

Dino was born 11 years after Nita. He went to St. Johns Nepomuk for four years, then to Wind Point, Jerstad and graduated from Horlick High School. He went to the University of Wisconsin at Parkside, then UWM. He majored in mechanical engineering. Dino worked as an engineering assistant at Western Publishing in the summer of 1976. He became engaged to Sophie Evreniadis on Christmas of 1977.
